The short version

PinSprint has no accounts. We never ask for your real name, email, phone number or location.
There are no ads, no advertising trackers and no tracking cookies on the site today.
We do not sell or share your data with anyone for marketing.

Your progress is saved in your own browser: daily results, streak, My India map, quiz results, the nickname you typed, your crews, and your language and sound settings.
Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of it. It is not backed up anywhere, so it cannot be moved to another phone.

Leaderboards: the nickname you choose and your score. Leaderboards are public, so pick a nickname that is not your real name. Daily leaderboards are deleted after 7 days.
Crews: the crew name, and each member's nickname and score. Crew boards are deleted after 15 days, and a crew that nobody plays in is deleted after 90 days.
Anonymous usage counts: a random ID made by your browser, plus simple events such as “opened the site”, “started a game” or “shared a result”. It holds no name and we cannot tell who you are from it. Daily counts are kept for about 13 months.
Reminders, only if you turn them on: the notification address your browser gives us, your streak length, the last day you played and your language. Turning reminders off deletes this.
Your IP address is handled by our hosting provider to deliver the site, and is held for a short time (up to an hour) to limit abuse such as flooding the leaderboard. We do not use it to identify you.

Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps short-term server logs.
Upstash stores the leaderboards, crews, reminder records and usage counts.
Esri (ArcGIS) supplies the satellite map. Your browser loads map images directly from them.
Wikipedia supplies the “read more” text. Your browser asks Wikipedia directly when you open it.
Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft deliver reminder notifications, depending on your browser.
WhatsApp opens only when you tap Share. What you send and who you send it to is up to you.

PinSprint is a general-knowledge game suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Turn reminders off at any time from the home screen or your browser settings.
Clear the site's data in your browser to erase your progress and your anonymous ID.
To have a nickname or crew removed from our servers, email hello@pinsprint.com with the nickname or crew name.

Questions are researched and checked, but mistakes can happen. If you spot a wrong answer or a misplaced pin, please tell us and we will fix it.
We may remove leaderboard or crew names that are abusive or that pretend to be someone else.

If we add accounts, ads or payments, this page will be updated before they go live, and the date at the top will change.
